I do not remember seeing any dogs during my two visits. Definitely call.
I did not see any the night I was there. You need to call and ask if they serve food They have the right to say no against state health code laws. But they may allow them on the patio outside. If you call and ask
Yes there is .. also you will Enjoy food ?
Yes. Nice china. High tea is available. It is a garden setting, as formal as you want to be.
They can hold large events, even weddings. Check out their website or call them for more info.
I always dress casually but some people dress up. It's really up to you.
Sweet teahouse decor. Scones are TERRIBLE. No flavor and heavy lumps of baked dough. Read are good. Small fruit servings. It used to be a great place.still lovely ambiance.
Can walk in, but for prime time on weekends midday doesn't hurt to call.
My first time here and I will be back. Server was super helpful on going over the variation of teas and menu options. We wanted the classic tea house experience and he nailed it. Love the charm and peacefulness. I highly recommend Cucumber Melon tea...light and flavorful. I drank it hot, but it could be drank cold too.
Our day was delightful! We were part of a very large group for an annual event and this was my first time to attend. I look forward to returning again, and again. One star was earned by our fabulous waiter. The 2nd star was earned by the chef who steamed zucchini & carrot curls for one member of our group with dietary needs, for which we are truly grateful. The 3rd, 4th and 5th stars are for the enchanting views of the flowers, humming birds & butterflies in the surrounding gardens. #MotherDaughterTea
A sweet little tea room with character. A bit hidden, but worth the finding! Nice tea selection and delicious fare.
I personally lived this place very cozy, food was good, and we had a great server.
New favorite tea house to take friends to brunch or to have special events! It's tucked away behind the train station in San Juan Capistrano.
Excellent food. No rush. Beautiful atmosphere.
Beautiful location...So pretty and peaceful outdoors. Food and service and always good!
Beautiful atmosphere and such a sweet and darling place. Keep up the superb customer service. I will definitely return again and again!
Always a five star review for this place. Their high tea is A LOT of food, by we just take home what we can't finish. Service is great and the atmosphere is the best. Always charming and inviting.
Very cute restaurant, service was great. I had the farm house scramble, good meal.
Service was a little clunky. Items ordered were forgotten, a tea pot was brought to the table without water in it. The crumpets were good. The scones were a little dry. 2 of 3 brunch meals were enjoyed. Avoid the prime rib. It is cooked by the slice, rather than being slow roasted as prime rib should be, so it didn't have the well developed flavor or juicy tenderness. The potatoes were under seasoned as well. I got a side of hollandaise, and that saved the meal.
I think our servers name was Cindy. She was AMAZING!!! Cant wait to go back. It's the best tea house around!!!
Amazing Tea house. Great ambience Great food Great service. Luv it!
Yum. Brunch on the weekends is the best. Their gluten free scones are actually very tasty and shaped in hearts which is cute. Pricy for sure but it's classy and trendy so what else would you expect.
Absolutely a must. Quaint, fun, a lot of food choices! Amazing steak, incredible scones, everything was excellent! All the hype is correct. Make reservations! The frittata was a party in our mouths (we shared dishes to get the best variety). Everyone get a different tea and share. You get a whole pot and it is loose leaf. Service was great. Parking is a bear, park at the 3 story garage at the train station. Second and third floors were no charge for three hours. Enjoy!
My mother and I had a wonderful high tea here. The food and service was excellent. The ambience of wonderful tea cups, decor, and music, made for a wonderful couple hours spent with my 92 year old mom. The food was absolutely delicious and filling.
This is a very quaint and romantic place for breakfast/brunch. The scones are light and fluffy and just perfect with clotted cream and raspberry jam. We always order the hash brown casserole, be sure to upgrade to the scone with breakfast. Parking can be tricky since there are only 5 or 6 spots but it's worth checking out. Also try the mimosa sampler.
We have been visiting the Tea House on Los Rios since it opened many years ago. I have been to tea houses all over and this is my favorite. The location and so tranquil and beautiful. The building and gardens are just the perfect setting with a choice of inside in one of their delightfully themed rooms or out on the comfortable wrap around porch. The tables are beautifully set and greet you with beautiful China and a flower or succulent in a tea pot. Their scones with homemade raspberry jam and cream are my favorite! Whether you are having one of the tea meals or the dinners you will be very happy. The food is generous and beautifully plated with fresh flowers. The best part is of course the delicious food. This is a great place for a special occasion or to treat yourself.
Went there with couple friends. The place is cozy , staff is very helpful and awesome. The scones are delicious. They do have gluten free options and decaf teas. The teas are very good. I have tried roobios, hibiscus, black currant, Earl grey. Definitely recommend Earl grey and black currant. It's what you prefer. They hold baby shower and saw a lot of mom and daughters , girlfriends there.
Oh my gosh, what can be said other than WONDERFUL!! Been going here for close to 15 years. Love it. The food is great and the service is superior. Please plan to make this the next place you go. It is more than a tea house, the selections will appease even the most picky palate. Make reservations now, you won't be sorry. And, you will need to go again, I promise!!
Great location and atmosphere. Service was excellent, with every interaction with all employees it was evident that they were well trained and cares about their work and customers.
Great spot. Good vibes and incredible food.
Great scones, great location, great staff - and the hashbrown quiche is absolutely killer.
Rainy late Friday afternoon treat, leisurely sitting outside on the veranda with a heat lamp, so it was warm. Attentive service from Fernando. Tea, Shepherd's pie and coconut pecan cake.
I love this tea house! I use to come here with my grandma when I was a little girl. Still a beautiful tea house. We popped in for a last minute reservation, management and staff were more than helpful and accommodating. The tea house was decorated perfect for Christmas and they have some fun events coming up for kids. Food was amazing and staff was incredibly kind. We felt very welcomed and enjoyed every minute of our time. They had a delicious Christmas special and their tea was amazing. At the end of our meal the staff gave us a small box of tea to celebrate our new baby girl.
Lovely venue for a shower girl's lunch/brunch
This was my first time visiting tbe tea house. It was very quaint. We had a group of 12 ladies celebrating a bridal shower had delightful experience!I will definitely come back!
My sister surprised me with Tea Time On Los Rios to celebrate my birthday. What a treat!! I loved the setting, atmosphere and the food and service was outstanding. I can’t wait to go back.
Lovely place, perfect to take your spouse.
More than five stars should be available for this dining experience. From the moment we stepped in, we were attended to with care. It was a little cool so we were seated in an enclosed area with heaters to keep us comfortable. Our server was personable, cheery and courteous. The food...every bite was delicious, over the top delicious. After we finished, a walk through the gardens complete with a tiny hummingbird. We loved it so much we mad our reservation for next month and want to relive the experience each month. Thank you.
Loved the food, tea, ambiance, presentation and our server was amazing. Super sweet, explained everything!
Quaint tea house good for special occasions and impressing others. 5 star customer service from Calvin. Scones are their best thing.
The environment in the main area is very loud when there are crowded because the sound bounced off walls a lot. The side rooms and outside are better. The soup is very good. The scones are too large and hard, not like normal British scones , and I do not like its texture and flavor. The tea sandwiches are passable. The deserts are very good. The meat in the pasty is bland and have a bit of powdery texture, but the pastry shell is flaky and light. Overall, I think if one is nearby, it's a good place to go, but not necessarily going out of way to get to. BTW, the parking is a bit tight.
Had lunch here this afternoon and had a fantastic experience. The food is delicious and well worth the price. I will definitely be back! They have a small parking lot, so I suggest parking in the structure on the other side of the train tracks and walk over.
This place is a gem, and it never disappoints. There is amazing tea, scones, and atmosphere! Parking can be tricky. Give yourself some extra time to find parking, if you will be visiting. Love this place!
It was a little pricey, but well worth it. The tea and light food we got were yummy. The environment was very relaxing and I would 100% return and even have an event here
We didn't do tea and scones (have seen some neg reviews on that) Instead we had Sunday brunch. That atmosphere was beyond perfect - it certainly helped that the weather was perfect! We sat outside towards the back so we definitely had the best seats. The Mimosa Flights were our favorite. We had 6 people and everyone loved their meals. Service was also great. I would go back.
This tea house is conveniently off the San Juan Capistrano train station. The outside is charming and inside as well. I got steak and eggs and my friend got the egg benedict. I also ordered a cold tea, recommended by the server. They can do cold or hot teas, the server recommended herbal for cold teas, so I got cucumber watermelon, it was really good. My friend and I will definitely go back! It was not busy during opening on Saturday but around 11 it began to get busy.
Superior quality food and full line menu that's homemade on the premises. Exceptional service. Over 40 teas to choose from. Quaint, relaxing, welcoming environment. Having visited other teahouses, there is no comparison. Los Rios Teahouse is the standard going above and beyond.
Great food, lovely atmosphere, awesome teas, and mimosas like no other.
Very nice place to pass a lovely morning or afternoon with a cup of tea. I visit this fine place sometimes to relax.
This is a perfect place for birthdays! We celebrated my sisters 55th! Food was good, the prime rib was tender and full of flavor. The tea was so light and aromatic. We had the Kyoto blossom rose tea. Mmm. The scones are to die for. Served with raspberry preserves and California cream, whipped to perfection. I couldn't help but eat the whole thing and it was BIG! Shepherd's pie is basic comfort food that was pleasing to my palette. Atmosphere is cozy as this tea house resides in the oldest streets of California in the Los Rios district. Many photo ops in the gardens that should not be missed!
The food was fabulous. Great presentation. Loved the setting.
Great service, fantastic waitress, great food.
Such a cute place!! Perfect for brunch and afternoon tea with friends. Tea selection was gorgeous and amazing. It's nestled in an old town San Juan Capistrano by the train stop. I and my friends all fell in love with this magical place. I wish I can go back soon!
It was phenomenal, I had such a lovely time at the Tea House, everyone was very nice and spectacular. I had the Grilled Filet of Salmon, and my God when they said it was grilled to perfection they mean grilled to perfection
The ambiance was soothing and conducive to conversation. I had the Petit Rio salad and added grilled salmon. The salmon was naked grilled...no additions like added herbs. Lunch was served with a buttermilk scone with butter and raspberry jam. We dined under a covered outdoor area. Table settings starred vintage tea cups and bowl. Definitely will be a return date.
